Sunday Worship Services
9:00 and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary
While we honor the traditional liturgy of the Church and the style of worship remains formal, we link the “old, old story” to the present day stories we are living.
Large Print Bulletins & Hearing Devices
Both are available for Sunday worship services; simply visit the Welcome Center in the Gathering Space.
Sunday Shuttle Bus
Complimentary bus service is provided to and from both The Pines and Williams Place in time for the 9:30 a.m. service or Sunday School. No reservations are required - simply be at the door of the lobby at 9:00 a.m. A step stool is provided to assist with getting on and off the bus.
Adult Sunday School Classes
All classes welcome walk-ins anytime! For suggestions regarding which class to visit, contact Rev. Dianne Lawhorn, Pastor for Adult Faith Formation. An elevator to the second floor is accessible through the first floor entrance of the Alexander Education Building.
All classes meet at 9:30 a.m., unless otherwise noted.
Adult Bible Study
A class of (mostly) couples and singles over 55 that focuses on video and discussion of the Old and New
Testament using the Efird Bible Study Series and Adam Hamilton video studies. Room 216/218.
Bill Hight Class
A class of (mostly) senior adults that uses the International Bible Study series. This class is led by a teacher and
attracts those looking for solid Bible study, therefore becoming more intergenerational. Room 222.
Faith in Action
This small group of parents with children/teens focuses on a common interest in building Christian relationships,
healthy marriages, and Christ-centered families. Studies are topical and typically run 6 - 8 weeks. The group also
participates in mission projects and social activities. Room 213.
Life Applications Class (A Reconciling Community: rmnetwork.org)
This group of individuals and couples, generally ages 45+, focuses on incorporating DUMC’s mission statement
into our daily lives using community and fellowship, overseas and local missions, and Bible and spiritual study.

Navigators
Adults generally ages 45+ utilize a wide range of materials, including books of the Bible, social issues, and anything
that deepens the members’ Christian thought. Davidson Town Hall.
Logos (A Reconciling Community: rmnetword.org)
Participants are generally 40+. Using formats such as video and/or sacred/contemporary/fictional writing, the
curriculum varies around Biblical, topical, and personal growth studies. This is a discussion driven class for
people looking to mature in their Christian discipleship. Room 209.
Shalom (A Reconciling Community: rmnetwork.org)
This class addresses a broad range of topics, usually relating to social justice, interfaith dialogue, and emerging
perspectives in Christian faith. Members volunteer to lead discussions that may be based on books, videos, or
guest speakers, and that reflect members’ diverse belief and opinions (theological, political, and otherwise). Room 220.
Opportunities for Fellowship
PrimeTimers
This active group of men and women meets for fellowship, meals, entertainment, and special events. The majority of people who attend this group are age 65 and above, but everyone is welcome!
PrimeTimers typically meet the third Tuesday of the month (September - May) at 11:30 a.m., most often in the church’s Fellowship Hall for a catered lunch and program. Contact Sherry Carpenter.
Support for Seniors
Visitation Program
Our church’s Senior Visitation Team focuses on providing visits to church members who are unable to attend church for a variety of reasons. Members of this team are eager to spend time with folks who need company, friendship, and support. If you are interested in having a visitor or serving as one: Dave Alexander
Legacy
In an effort to preserve the story of our church, we have created the Legacy Project. Trained interviewers meet with church members to create a written document of their life story. One copy is given to the individual and one is kept in the church Library. Contact Sherry Carpenter for more information.
